Step 8—Yield myself to God and to be used to bring His good news to others, both by my example and my words.
As we confess our sins, allow God to change us, and live differently as a result, there will be resistance. When that resistance takes the form of new or repeat temptation in our own lives, we need to cycle back through repentance and submission to God. When that resistance is from outsiders, who are convicted by the example of our lives, we are to help them understand God’s forgiveness and love. When that resistance is from other Christians who find themselves caught in a sin, we are to restore them gently. Whatever the resistance, our calling is to yield to being used by God to spread his good news and be the light in a dark place.
