Marlon began following Jesus on May 14th, 2010 in his dorm room at Bradley University… it was the night before he graduated and entered the “real world.” Jesus made Himself real to Marlon that day, and He has done so every day since.
After a successful career as an actor, Marlon began to pursue vocational ministry and began the life long process of learning what it meant to lead others to Jesus. Marlon helped plant a church in Lincoln Park, honed his music leadership skills at a church plant in Woodlawn, served faithfully at a church plant in Oak Park, and lead the worship ministry efforts for a church plant on the Near West Side. This journey has given Marlon a deep passion for Chicago and God’s vision for this city, and people’s lifelong relationships with Jesus.
At Chicago Hope Marlon hopes to cultivate an environment where people can honestly encounter Jesus. Marlon fully believes that God wants to have a relationship with everyone and He will do anything to make that happen. There was a time in Marlon’s life where he was fully ready to walk away from the church and God brought him back to full-time ministry after battling severe depression for four years. The only thing Marlon knows for sure is that Jesus is real and that He is the only reason Marlon is able to do anything. Marlon hopes that at Chicago Hope you will be ready to learn with us, encounter Jesus, and enter the “real world” together.
