But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you. – John 14:26 (NLT)
The Spirit speaks to us in many ways, always moving us toward closer agreement with Jesus. Very often He reminds us of things we have already learned about God and His will for our lives. (This is why study of Scripture, prayer, meditation on God’s Word are so important.) We might be reminded of a Scripture that applies to our current situation. We might be reminded of an acquaintance from whom we have not heard for a while. In any event, remaining in close communion with God on a day-to-day basis will make us more attentive to the Spirit when He speaks.
