… and [I believe] in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord, … — Second Article of the Apostles’ Creed.
As much as it is important these days to stand up against evil in our society, it is important for us to understand and acknowledge that that evil lives in each one of us, and that only by the grace of God can we do any good thing. We needed Jesus to die for our salvation; we have no power on our own to approach God because of the pervasiveness of our sin. Having bought us with His own blood, Jesus now has rightful claim to Lordship (ownership) over every aspect of our lives. Recognizing the Lordship of Jesus Christ is the first step to letting that Lordship play out in righteousness each day.
